This Persian Qashqai Lion carpet features a Kashkouli style weave. Highlighting the powerful imagery of a prowling Lion, the carpet's central motif features a cream lion atop a rich red background. Utilizing the contrasting hues between the light cream background, weavers designated the alternating tones to depict depth and detailing for the lion's mane, paws, ears, and tail. Furthermore, the eye of the lion and torso detailing, completed in dark indigo, adds character to the lion. Surrounding the big cat is a simple and colorful border featuring tribal and a repetitive dogtooth border. Adding life to the geometric cream wool detail the exterior with dark gray outlining each motif. Considering this Qashqai's unique design, what truly separates this carpet from other transitional pieces comes down to its hand-knotted construction.

Don't forget to add a rug pad—it helps your rug feel better and last longer!
Cyrus is very knowledgeable and is familiar with every rug in his shop. We second guessed our impulse purchase and Cyrus shipped the other choice. We then shipped the first rug back and without any hesitation, he credited the overage$. It was fun shopping in store but I’d be comfortable shopping on line. I recommend stopping in when in the neighborhood. Beautiful hand made Persian Gabbeh. Area rug and runner. We’ll be back.
