Description

Beautiful Antique Persian Room Size Heriz Rug, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Persian Rug, Circa Date: 1920 – This geometric medallion Persian Heriz rug is a bold and classically elegant example. Its jewel tone rug colors combined with its bold tribal designs make it a perfect statement piece to anchor the room around. From start to finish, this Persian rug leaves the viewer in stunning awe at its ability to display movement, balance and symmetry in such the perfect fashion.

In the middle of this antique room size rug is the conically classic blue anchor medallion that we so closely associate with the Persian Heriz Serapi rugs. The blue background color of the medallion is the same blue color that we see in the anchor medallion. This creates a beautifully artistic tension between the two blue areas and also translates into a wonderfully balanced feel as well.

The use of colors in this antique Persian room size Heriz rug is also one of its strongest points. The mix of both the rich jewel tones and well as the happy touches of lighter colors, give this tribal rug a playful and innocent feel.

While this is an antique Oriental rug, that was woven almost 100 years ago, it is easy to incorporate it into the more modern interior design trends of today. While it could also work easily in a room decorated with lavish antiques, it can just as easily be incorporated and work within a vintage mid century modern designed home as well.

This level of versatility is indicative of the abilities that the Persian rug makers who created this rug had. As if created for the decorating markets of today, this antique Persian room size Heriz rug possesses a timeless beauty and is sure to become a family heirloom that will be coveted for generations.

GEORGE Constantinople

I was walking by Pasargad this week when I was stopped in my tracks by a beautiful 13' x 9' rug hanging in the window. Since I have worked with Pasargad before and know the excellent quality of their rugs and the exceptionally knowledgable and kind staff, I went right in, spoke to Cyrus, and again he advised me extremely well! I purchased the rug right away. Three days later, after the special rug pad had arrived from NYC, Muhammad and Pablo came to my apartment to deliver the rug and set it in place. They were simply excellent!!! They removed some furniture from my living room with great care before laying out the pad and rug. They were very patient and precise in their work and definitely knew what they were doing. The rug is now the "star" of my living room and only Pasargad with its "five stars" can top that!!! I am very grateful to Pasargad and recommend it very highly!!!
